Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement Guidelines

The EuroMid Journal of Business and Tech-Innovation (EJBTI) is committed to maintaining high standards of publication ethics and academic integrity. The journal adheres to the Core Practices and guidance of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and ensures that all parties involved—editors, reviewers, authors, and publishers—follow ethical responsibilities throughout the publication process.

1. General Statement

EJBTI publishes original, high-quality scholarly research in the fields of business, technology, accounting, finance, and governance. All submitted manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere. The journal employs a rigorous double-blind peer-review process, and all stakeholders—editors, reviewers, and authors—are expected to comply with ethical standards as outlined by COPE.

2. Duties of Editors

  • Publication Decisions: Editors evaluate manuscripts based solely on academic merit, originality, clarity, relevance, and ethical standards, without regard to the authors’ race, gender, nationality, or institutional affiliation.
  • Confidentiality: Editors and editorial staff must treat all submissions as confidential and disclose content only to those directly involved in the review and publication process.
  • Conflicts of Interest: Editors will recuse themselves from handling manuscripts where a conflict of interest exists.
  • Misconduct Handling: The journal follows COPE flowcharts in investigating suspected misconduct (e.g., plagiarism, fabrication, duplicate submission).

3. Duties of Reviewers

  • Contribution to Editorial Decisions: Peer review assists the editorial board in making informed decisions and helps authors improve the manuscript.
  • Confidentiality: Manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents.
  • Objectivity: Reviews must be conducted objectively, with clear, constructive feedback.
  • Acknowledgement of Sources: Reviewers should ensure that relevant cited work has been properly acknowledged and report any substantial similarity with previously published material.
  • Conflicts of Interest: Reviewers must declare any potential conflicts and decline to review if a conflict exists.

4. Duties of Authors

  • Originality and Plagiarism: Authors must ensure that their work is entirely original and properly cite others’ ideas. Plagiarism in any form is unacceptable and constitutes unethical behavior.
  • Multiple Submissions: Authors should not submit the same manuscript simultaneously to more than one journal.
  • Authorship: Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the research. The corresponding author must confirm that all co-authors agree to the final version of the manuscript.
  • Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest: Authors must disclose all sources of financial support and any potential conflicts of interest.
  • Corrections: If authors discover errors post-publication, they are expected to inform the editor and cooperate in issuing a correction or retraction.

5. Publisher Responsibilities

The EuroMid Academy of Business & Technology (EMABT), as publisher, ensures the autonomy of editorial decisions and upholds ethical oversight of all content. Advertising or commercial interests have no influence on editorial decisions. The publisher supports authors, editors, and reviewers in handling ethical complaints and facilitates corrections, retractions, and updates when needed.
